A MESSAGE FROM THE AUTHOR
One rainy night during the pandemic, my son Benji asked me to edit his college application essay with the prompt, “What are ten things you hope to experience before you die?” As I sat by the fire with a cup of coffee, I began reading Benji’s essay and I found myself teary when I read the last sentence Benji wrote: “Lastly, I hope that during my lifetime I will hear God speak to me personally because, if you think about it, nothing could be more important than hearing God’s voice.”
Benji is not alone in his longing to hear God’s voice. Most people in your generation are stressed, anxious, depressed, lonely or scared about the future. If you have ever longed to hear God speaking to you, I have good news for you. God sees you and cares about the things that are worrying you right this minute. God is whispering to you all the time and wants to help you learn how to hear His voice. Your whole life can change in a moment when you hear God’s loving voice saying to you, “I see you. You are not alone. Let me carry you through this hard time and give you peace.”
You do not need a PhD to hear God’s voice. I wrote this book to share my experience of hearing God's whispers in my life. My hope is that you will be open to the same.
